Webinars for the new Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Quadrant Software from CCIM

The Community Care Information Management (CCIM) program’s HRIS project team at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has launched a new HRIS Quadrant Software Webinar for Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMH&A) and Community Support Services (CSS) organizations across the province.

The webinar reviews how to:

  • implement the Quadrant (HR, Payroll, Scheduling and Self Service) software
  • streamline back-office processes
  • meet Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards requirements

Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care releases Guide to Good Governance for LHIN Boards

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recently released the LHIN Guide to Good Governance as a resource to provide guidance based on leading practices to LHIN Board members and other stakeholders.

The Guide reviews five topic areas:

  • Leading practices in board governance
  • Board member roles and responsibilities
  • Board scenarios
  • Board evaluations
  • Checklists and policy documents

South West LHIN releases summary of mental health and addictions strategy consultations

The South West LHIN conducted consultations between May and October, 2009 on the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Mental Health and Addiction 10 Year Strategy. The consultations were held with Area Provider Tables, Mental Health and Addictions Networks, consumer groups, and individuals in the South West LHIN geographic area.

SW LHIN allocates $72,000 in urgent priorities funding to two mental health and addictions projects

The South West LHIN Board approved the allocation of urgent priorities funding for the 2009/2010 fiscal year to two mental health and addictions projects.

  • Addiction Services of Thames Valley was allocated $23,000 for LHIN-wide training on the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs - Short Screener (GAIN-SS), a tool designed to facilitate universal screening for concurrent disorders.

Emergency Departments Human Resource Study approved by South West LHIN Board

In December 2008, the South West LHIN initiated a study of the human resources environment surrounding our emergency departments. Over 100 individuals were directly engaged in the work of this study and helped shape the findings and proposed strategies. Not only does this study make recommendations around human resources, but the results will help plan for future models of care, connections with primary care, the refreshed IHSP and ultimately Emergency Department Wait Times.

South West LHIN Health Systems Blueprint Project will develop planning and implementation framework and inform next IHSP

The South West LHIN is undertaking the Blueprint Project, development of a framework for health services that clearly conveys the future configuration and inter-relationship of the right services, in the right place, at the right time, by the right provider.

Health System Design in the South West LHIN

The South West LHIN is conducting a series of six Webcasts (see South West LHIN Webcast Series) to inform stakeholders of the LHINS's vision, mission, values and health system improvement goals. These webcasts also inform partners of how Priority Action Teams' future directions align with the LHIN goals and how recently funded projects move the system closer to the recommendation made by these Teams (see LHINSW_detailed plans to implement IHSP_jan09).
