Webinars for the new Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Quadrant Software from CCIM

The Community Care Information Management (CCIM) program’s HRIS project team at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has launched a new HRIS Quadrant Software Webinar for Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMH&A) and Community Support Services (CSS) organizations across the province.

The webinar reviews how to:

  • implement the Quadrant (HR, Payroll, Scheduling and Self Service) software
  • streamline back-office processes
  • meet Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards requirements

Updates from the OMHAKEN Knowledge Exchange Leads

OMHAKEN is the Ontario Mental Health and Addictions Knowledge Exchange Network, a knowledge exchange network initially established to support the research of the System Enhancement Evaluation Initiative (SEEI).

OMHAKEN works to improve the quality of mental health and addictions services, supports, research and policy by linking and engaging providers, planners, researchers, decision-makers, policy-makers, consumers and families in knowledge creation and exchange across all levels of government and the health care system.

Central LHIN Approves Voluntary Integration Between York Central Hospital and CMHA York Region

On October 27, 2009 the Central LHIN Board of Directors approved a voluntary integration request submitted by York Central Hospital and CMHA York Region. The result of the integration request is the transfer of funding and mandate from York Central Hospital to CMHA York Region to deliver employment support services in York Region and South Simcoe. CMHA will recruit three employment specialists for job development, job coaching, and information resources.

Central LHIN IHSP 2010-2013 includes focus on improving service gaps in mental health and addictions

The Central LHIN Integrated Health Service Plan (IHSP) for 2010-2013 is oriented around four priorities:

  • Emergency Department and Alternate Level of Care
  • Chronic Disease Management and Prevention
  • Mental Health and Addictions
  • Health Equity

Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care releases Guide to Good Governance for LHIN Boards

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recently released the LHIN Guide to Good Governance as a resource to provide guidance based on leading practices to LHIN Board members and other stakeholders.

The Guide reviews five topic areas:

  • Leading practices in board governance
  • Board member roles and responsibilities
  • Board scenarios
  • Board evaluations
  • Checklists and policy documents

Stakeholder Forum on the implementation of the Joint Policy Guidelines for Dual Diagnosis in Central and CE LHINs

Central East LHIN, Central LHIN, the Community Network of Specialized Care along with the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care and Community and Social Services are inviting health service providers to an event to provide feedback on the implementation of the Joint Policy Guidelines for the Provision of Community Mental Health and Developmental Services for Adults with Dual Diagnosis.

The consultation is taking place on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (formerly the Whitby Mental Health Centre).

Central LHIN appoints new CEO

Central LHIN has appointed Kim Baker as their new CEO.

Ms. Baker has been serving as acting CEO since March 2009. Previously she served as the Senior Director of Planning, Integration and Community Engagement.

Central LHIN CEO reflects on accomplishments of 2008

In a recent media release, CLHIN CEO Hy Eliasoph outlines many
accomplishments & integration initiatives from 2008 including: 26 Aging
at Home projects; integration of services with the transfer of rehab
services from North York General to St John's Rehab Hospital; back
office integration initiatives; the partnering with Toronto Central LHIN to
establish the joint e-health Council which will roll out the "My
Chart" web portal in 2009; a KPMG Service Needs Assessment Gap
analysis which will be a foundation for the new 3 year IHSP to be
developed in 2009.
